I looked in the arduino code for the packager. I was able to download the tool file from the URL by changing the HTTP:// HTTP:// to HTTPS:// HTTPS:// but that didnt make the edison appear in the board manager. for history sake this is some of my investigation\digging results that led me to the success above. Load the blink example and save to your workbook Start arduino and set the board to edison.
